Passionate about music and technology, Ambroise Boret has been a sound engineer since the late 1990s. Eclectic in his musical tastes, he works in many styles such as Hip-Hop, Electro, Pop, Rock, Jazz and film music.
Ambroise learned to play music at the age of 8, through classical training at the conservatory. At the end of the 1980s, he discovered House Music and Techno while listening to the radio.

Passionate about computers, he launched himself into computer-assisted music using the Atari and Amiga computers (standards back then), before moving on to the Roland TB 303 sequencer, a Juno-106 synthesizer, an Akai S950 sampler and a drum machine.

He enrolled at ESRA (school of sound and cinema) at the age of 19. While attending clubs, raves parties and Parisian record stores, he met the late Philippe Zdar who would later on create, with Hubert Blanc-Francard aka "Boombass", the famous French electronic music act, Cassius. Philippe introduced him to one of the largest studios in Paris, Plus XXX, where he started working as an intern in 1994. During that same year Ambroise released his first 12 inch, self-composed and self-produced under the name of “Continental”. With 500 vinyl copies pressed it was one of the first French House music records ever to be released.
“Plus XXX was a revolution! Watching Philippe working with artists such as MC Solaar, Ménélik, Les Sages Poets de la rue, or his Motorbass project with Étienne de Crécy, was an incredible experience. It allowed me to question a number of things you learn in school. It was during these sessions that I imprinted in my mind certain tones that I have been trying to recreate since, especially for the treatment of the bass sound”.
Three years later, Ambroise enrolled in the American School of Modern Music to learn Jazz piano and deepen his musical knowledge. During this period, he provided studio sessions for DJ Gilb’r’s label "Versatile". He also met the members of French hip-hop band Alliance Ethnik, who were known for their first album which was produced by the famous American producer engineer, Bob Power (Tribe Called Quest, De la Soul ...).
“I helped them record some interludes for their 2nd album. Shortly after, the group no longer existed, but I continued to work with three of the members: Faster Jay for his label Kif records, Guts on his solo projects and Crazy B with his group Birdy Nam Nam”.
In 2001 Ambroise joined up with the band “Les Sages Poets De La Rue” which he had met at Plus XXX in 1994 on their first album, and for whom he recorded the album "After the Storm" in the studios of BMG France, where he would work for several years.
Installed for a time at the studio "Antenna", he will work on more acoustic projects as well as on movies soundtracks.

From 2010 onwards, Ambroise passes on his experience and knowledge in many Parisian schools through training in computer music, engineering and mixing.
Now based at the "Studios de la Seine", he keeps recording, mixing and producing artists from various backgrounds.
